Special Events and Field Trips
At North Shore School, we believe learning must also be sensory and experiential, which is why your child’s education will exceed beyond the traditional classroom! 7th and 8th graders are able to participate in a week-long trip to NASA Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama!!!
Additionally, your child will be able to participate in several excursions to such places as: the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, local museums, the Lyric Opera House, the Shakespeare Theatre and many more…
We also provide ways for families to get involved at school! Every winter we invite parents to our Students’ Holiday Pageant. In the spring, we offer a host of activities; our physical education show, our ever popular Art and Book Fair, and the culmination of our school year: Graduation and Final Play, performed by the students and Drama Club! |

With a wide variety of extra curricular activities, North Shore provides many outstanding after school options:
- In Drama Club, students learn various acting and theatre techniques, including stagecraft, set-building and singing. Students learn how to work together, gain self-confidence and perform in two plays throughout the school year!
- Journalism Club not only provides lessons for writing and technique, but allows students to publish their work in North Shore’s quarterly newsletter!
- Piano lessons are available for students looking to learn or diversify in their music talents.
- Our after school program provides supervised play and study time for students of all ages from 3:15-6 PM.
- Our computer lab houses the most current technology with ten Mac computers all connected through a high-speed DSL network!
- The 7th and 8th graders get to go to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama!
